The Gospel Garden

One of the most exciting developments in recent days has been the formation of the Gospel Garden.  The garden has been created as a place for prayer, and also a place that tells the wonderful story of the good news of our Lord Jesus who brings new life for all who turn to Him.   The Garden reflects the depth of our experience from visiting the Holy Land.

We walk into the Garden of Gethsemane amongst ancient olive trees to remember how Jesus prayed to His Father in Heaven the night before He died. We remember His agony; His sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. We find we can pray with Him here.

And as we move forward, there is a large wooden cross reminding us all of His suffering and sacrifice for us, His death and our salvation. From there we look to the open tomb remembering that Jesus is risen from the dead and lives forever with His Father, as King of kings and Lord of lords.

Beside the tomb there is a stream of water, which reminds us of the fountain of God’s love pouring from Heaven on all of us.

This garden is a place to pray, and everyone who goes into it is moved – you will be too.
